Most grocery store visits contain no fun whatsoever. People usually go shopping because they need to, not because it is entertaining. However, the caper cart can turn that around. With features that would make a shopping visit seem thrilling, the caper cart is a revolutionary technology that could completely change shopping.

What is the Caper Cart?

According to CNN, a Caper Cart is not a normal shopping cart. It possesses small sensors and cameras to check which items you have put in and taken out of your cart, as well as a small screen. This small screen allows you to see which items are in your cart, check if the caper cart accidentally missed an item, and purchase all your items with one barcode scan. These features will make the shopping experience quick and simple.

Features

According to The Verge, personalization and gamification create a better customer experience.

With one QR code, people can import their shopping list to the Caper Cart and check out from the cart without waiting in line. The Caper Cart can also show discounts and deals for products the customer has bought before. This allows for a more efficient and personal experience at a shopping market.

The Caper Cart has a new “gamified feature,” When you add an item to your cart, it shows you the location of a second item you can get with more discounts! It shows a dotted-line trail on the map of the whole shop on where to go next. It also flings you into a treasure hunt to find flash deals on the map. With repeated visits to a shopping market when Instacart primarily delivers groceries, the cart will reward you with credits from a “shopping streak.”

Other features include Quests for more credit, Spin to Win to save money, and much more.

Which Shops Use the Caper Cart?

Although the company says it’s tripled its Caper Cart footprint, according to The Verge, there will be thousands of them soon. Some stores that might have the Caper Cart are Bristol Farms, Fairway Market, The Fresh Grocer, Geissler’s Supermarket, Kroger, McKeever’s Market & Eatery, Price Chopper, Schnucks and ShopRite in the U.S. and Aldi in Australia.

There might not be a shop with the Caper Cart near you, but there might be in the future!
